Post Increment Operator Example in Java

Write a Java Program to illustrate the effect of Post  increment in the current and next expression.

It means a++ uses the value of a in current expression and increments the value of a by 1. So the increment reflects in the next statement.

Program or Solution

class Postinc

{

public static void main(String args[])

{

int a = 10;

int b;

b = a++;

System.out.println(a);

System.out.println(b);

}

}

Output

Program Explanation

In the above program value of a (10) will be assigned to the b and a will be incremented by 1. So finally b is 10 and a is 11.
